In the Asia Pacific region, respondents noted that they retain an
average of 3. 7 outstanding regulatory investigations moving into the
new year, according to the ACC Law Department Management Report.
This value compares to US respondents, who noted retaining an
average of 23. 6 outstanding regulatory investigations.
Rejecting the alternative…
According to the ACC Law Department Management Report,
respondents in the Asia Pacific region noted that Alternative Fee
Arraignments (AFAs) comprised only 13. 3 percent of outside legal
spend. In comparison, respondents in Latin America/ Caribbean ( 51
percent), MENA ( 32. 5 percent), and Europe ( 25. 5 percent) noted
that AFAs comprised a larger amount of their outside legal spend.
An inside look…
According to the ACC Law Department Management Report, the
average inside legal spend for respondents in the Asia Pacific region
in 2014 was US$16,512,500. This value exceeds the average inside
legal spend in the United States, where respondents only reported
spending an average of US$8,816,143.
On average, in-house respondents in the Asia Pacific region
reported setting a US$24,070,000 budget in 2015, according to
the ACC Law Department Management Report. This value is higher
than respondents in the United States, who reported setting a
US$23,496,090 budget, and respondents in the MENA region, who
reported setting a US$21,400,000 budget in 2015.
